Agriculture

Agriculture has an important place in Egypt. Agriculture is the art of planting vegetable products using seeds. These products have various uses in the industries of Egypt, or in the culinary arts.

Be careful: Agriculture is a circular chain. You start with seeds, grow some vegetable products, and end up with seeds for the next harvest. The only way to get the original seeds is via trading, or getting some from School or Universities. However, you can get these seeds only once. Should you lose them, you will need to get them again from players.

Flax Culture

The growing of flax is the most basic of the agriculture techniques. It requires no additional tools or materials beyond the original seeds. The only maintenance you need to do is to watch for weeds.

You may plant flax for seeds or for the vegetable product itself. You get one or the other, not both.

  • Growing for seeds
  • Growing for seeds is simple: Select "Plant... Flax Seeds" in your personal menu. A Flax Bed will appear. Let it grow. When weeds appear, don't do anything. After a while, the Flax Bed will ripen, and you can pick seeds from the flax bed. Just keep on harvesting the seeds until the growth ends.

  • Growing for flax
  • Growing for flax itself requires attention. Again, plant your flax bed like above. Weeds (yellowish growth) will appear. When they do, weed the flax bed. Repeat for each weed that appears, until you can harvest the flax bed.

  • Advanced strains
  • With technology comes better strains. Besides the ones you can get at a school, players have been cross-breeding plants, giving strains that yield more seeds, more flax, less weeding, or all of the above.

Current strains can get you 6 flax products and twice the number of seeds per harvest for a single weeding, or 5 flax products and three times the number of seeds, again for a single weeding. Ask your fellow players, getting a seed of one of these strains should be easy, if not free.
